After decades of working with adults to build environments with strong DEI foundations our founding consultant realized the critical need to start this work earlier in people’s lives. She developed TEENdiversophy™ The Game specifically to help students learn the skills of living and thriving together in their diverse schools and communities.
“DIVERSOPHY” is a word conceived by Dr. George F. Simons by combining two words: “diverse,” which means variation or differences, and “sophia,” the Greek word meaning teaching or learning wisdom.
The definition of DIVERSOPHY™ and TEENdiversophy™ is therefore:
“Learning wisdom about differences.”
Game cards for the original TEENdiversophy™ The Game were written by students — for students.
Students at Gunn High School in Palo Alto, CA, wrote, field-tested and edited 200 game cards to help themselves and other students learn “wisdom about differences.” The Game became a popular learning tool for educators across the USA.
